The new buses will be fully electric and have more leg room and will be able to carry up to 1,200 passengers.
India will pay around $1.5 billion to purchase the buses, said a report in The Times, a financial news and information website owned by The Times Group.
The buses will also have more amenities including seats and a reclining seat.
The Times said that the buses will start arriving in India in October and that the cost of the fleet is expected to be $1 billion.
The Times also said that it would buy a fleet of electric buses and plans to operate them in India from 2019.
India’s government plans to sell the buses to international firms to sell in the United States and Europe, according to the report.
“We are going to offer the buses in the U.S. and Europe in 2020,” said a senior government official.
“We will have the buses at a cost of $1,500 per bus and will sell them for $1 million per bus.”
