Bus schedules for the upcoming 2017 season have been released, including the first schedule released for the first time since the last schedule was released in January 2018.
The 24 bus route is the first route that is being considered for expansion to the Capital Metro Bus Rapid Transit (MRT) route in 2021.
It will begin its route in the city’s Downtown District, which will serve the Capital Region, from Westlake Mall to the intersection of Washington and State Streets, and will continue north along Washington Street to the north end of the city.
The route is slated to take between one and three hours to complete, with a peak peak hour on Saturdays and Sundays, and between an average of 5-10 minutes from rush hour.
It is also a new route to the Regional Rail, which was originally scheduled to open in 2019, but was later delayed by the North Coast Light Rail and the construction of the Purple Line.
The final bus schedule will be released in mid-May, but the Metrolinx regional master plan is still being finalized.
